Greetings!
We stated in our first issue that
Now more than ever, you are inundated with health-care news and noise
. We then promised to be
your friendly curator—to sift the essential from the confusing and sometimes painful barrage of plague and practice headlines.
Approximately three weeks later, the barrage continues. This week, even the most up-to-date expert and/or in-the-room practitioner remains confused. Our slow climb out of
staying safe at home
may have to stop or slow down. Tragically, doctors and leaders in Arizona, Alabama, Texas and other states with significant spikes are asked “is this epidemic real or a creation of the media or Democratic politicians?” or the equally denying claim that the only or key reason for a spike is that more people are being tested–Yes they are, but the key data point is that those testing positive are well in excess of the increasing number of tests.
This week we will try to help answer the above questions and the one question we are all asking:
“Where are we in the process of reopening–going back to the facilities, workplaces and offices?”
Today, your curators are proposing that you not read first, but rather take a half hour and listen to the June 15, NY Times The Daily podcast
“What We’ve Learned About the Coronavirus–Six months into the pandemic, we take stock of where we are, and where we might be going.”
Full of facts and science, yet understandable while walking the dog(s), driving to the market, or at the desk. After or before you listen, we have lots to read and it is linked below in the
Revitalize
List for June 17, 2020.
