Colleagues,

After years of internal research and rigorous testing, our innovative solution is ready to redefine industry standards.

Glasslined Technologies Inc. (GTI) has successfully completed an extensive two-phase evaluation of its patented Permanent Glasslined Repair Technology, setting a new benchmark for repairing glass-lined equipment.

GTI started conducting significant testing and development in-house—from initial concept to successful completion. Sample discs were sent to Alfred University for extensive ASTM B08.12 testing in collaboration with the Materials Technology Institute (MTI). MTI played a crucial role in supporting the development of this technology. Initial repairs were performed on damaged parts sent from MTI member companies. During the second phase, MTI supplied 12-inch samples, with half used as control samples and the remaining samples being repaired using the induction process. Testing was performed in accordance with ASTM B08.12 standards, in conjunction with the Materials Technology group at Alfred University, over an 18-month period.

This groundbreaking repair method offers a permanent solution, unlike traditional fixes that require ongoing on-site intervention. GTI’s approach significantly reduces downtime and cost while maintaining the operational integrity of critical process equipment.

Stay Safe,

NEW PATENTED TECHNOLOGY

Phase 1: Non-Destructive Evaluation (NDE)

These tests confirm that the repair bonds fully, have no hidden cracks, and will perform like the original glass lining under real process conditions. The repairs are as strong or stronger than the adhesives used to bond them, and have long-term durability. Porosity found in both repaired and original glass is normal; glass is a good sign of lining, always has micro-defects, but stays robust due to its thickness and bond.

Phase 2: Performance in Corrosive & Abrasive Conditions

Repairs must survive chemicals, rapid heating/cooling, and wear. The near-identical results to the original glass show that the repair matches factory quality. Read about the different ASTM tests that Glasslined Technologies put their new technology through.
