Greetings from the Rhythm Rockets...

Friends & Fans,

We have a performance coming up that is near and dear to our hearts, Jalopy Fest!
"Really Dave, why is that?" you ask.

It's widely known that our beautiful Nicole loves dogs. When I first met her in 2000, she had a pooch named Belle. Belle was a lovable Doberman who graced Nicole's first solo album High Standards. After the passing of Belle, Nicole opened her heart and adopted a rescue Greyhound named Harvey. Harvey was named after a song by one of Nicole's favorite songwriters, Hoagy Carmichael. Harvey spent his retirement years living the life of a pampered pup.
Well, that is until he was forced to share the attention and his pampered life with Hoagy and Walter. Hoagy and Walter were also rescue pooches.
It wasn't long before these three canines were put to work...because there is more to life than chasing squirrels, rabbits and eating each other's poop! Nicole began a training program with Rainbow Animal Assisted Therapy and her furry friends became comfort companions for the young patients. Their many hours of bringing happiness included stops at Comer Children's Hospital, Comer Ronald McDonald House, and La Rabida Children's Hospital.
These days...it's just Walter who gets all the attention and continues to bring joy to kids who are laid up in the hospital. Perhaps the squirrels and rabbits are a bit relieved too that they only have to watch out for one of the Musketeers?

This is where it all comes together in regards to Jalopy Fest and the Rhythm Rockets... The fine folks running Jalopy Fest are requesting donations of dog food, cat food, bedding (dog beds and old towels) and of course cash donations that will be given to local animal shelters. You can even buy a souvenir Jalopy Fest poster and the money is given to the charities.

So make plans to come out and see some great music, custom cars and don't forget the Alpo!
SATURDAY SEPT 10- JALOPY FEST
We will be performing at this annual event, closing out the weekend's entertainment line up on Saturday.

There will be four bands on Saturday starting at 11:00AM with Jenny V James, the 13 Tikis at 1:00PM, the Mama lamas at 3:00PM, and Rhythm Rockets from 5:00PM-6:30PM. The party doesn't end when we do, our old pal Woodshop Joe will be spinning the best in Roots, Rockabilly and Americana music into the evening. That's a lot of entertainment! Plus the cars, the swap meet, the pinup contest, the foods and the libations...kind of like a carnival for grownups.
