Richard Morrison Donlin
June 17, 1934 - February 22, 2020
It is with great sadness we write that industry icon, Dick Donlin, has passed away.
Born on June 17, 1934, in Excelsior, Minnesota, to Joe and Stella (Nelson) Donlin. Dick was raised on the family dairy farm and delivered milk to customers all around Lake Minnetonka. As a boy, he was known to run everywhere he went, earning him the nickname "Dickie Dasher", a name that stuck with him the rest of his life.
Dick graduated from Excelsior High School and went on to be a three-sport athlete at Hamline University. In 1966, he became the youngest member inducted into the Hamline Hall of Fame. He had a brief try-out with the Baltimore Colts, as their 2nd round draft pick.
In June, of 1956, Dick returned from Baltimore to marry the love of his life, Janice (Cook) Donlin.
