Rash of Deck Collapses Plague North America
Is it me, or does it seem that there are a rash of deck failures throughout North America? Almost every week this year there are reports of serious injuries, even a death, involving a failed exterior deck. Apparently, there are researchers who are keeping up with the number of exterior deck collapses. Click Here for their results.

Think about it. Exterior decks are THE most exposed structural frame on most residences. Yet, they are an afterthought when it comes to proper construction and maintenance. Check your deck!!!

NAFE Summer Seminar in July!!!
It is not too late!!! The National Academy of Forensic Engineers (NAFE) is having its summer meeting in Denver, CO. The dates are July 26-28, 2019. If you are interested in becoming a sought after Board Certified Forensic Engineer, you should consider joining NAFE. Any engineer can call themselves a Forensic Engineer. Only a few have the qualifications to be Board Certified. Go to www.nafe.org for more information.
