To truly worship God, to draw near to Him with our whole heart, means to bare our souls before Him, holding nothing back - not the good, the bad, or the ugly. The reality of who He is and how He loves us is so totally disarming that we come into His presence without fear or pretense, but not without reverence. Which is to say that we are fully ourselves, totally transparent, and wonderfully alive.
"Then one of the seraphs flew to me with a live coal in his hand...With it he touched my mouth and said, '...your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for" (Isaiah 6:6-7).
Lord Jesus, thank You for Your unconditional love that welcomes us into Your presence and makes us new. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.
