A Kindergarten class visits to learn more about our LEGO Robotics programs

Celebrate Bike to the Library Day at the Downtown Library on Saturday, May 16 from 10am-12pm. Whether riding to work, school, the park or just around town, biking is a fun and sustainable way to stay active while reducing environmental impact. Stop by the library’s Energizer Station for coffee from The Yard, treats, community resources and a free Bike to Wherever Day musette bag while supplies last. Sponsored by Friends of the Redwood City Public Library and Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition, this all-ages event reflects the library’s commitment to supporting the mental, physical and emotional wellness of the community through engaging quality-of-life programs, including bicycle-oriented programming that promotes healthy and safe transportation options.

Redwood Shores Branch Library is home to a new Ballot Drop Box, providing the Redwood Shores community with a convenient and central location to drop off voting ballots during voting periods. The drop box is located in front of the library, adjacent to the book drop. For the June 2, 2026 Statewide District Primary Elections, the Ballot Drop Box is now open, 24-hours per day, seven days a week, and will remain open through Election Day. On Election Day, the Ballot Drop Box will be open until 8pm. Voting ballots will be retrieved regularly by the San Mateo County Registration & Elections Division staff.

The City Clerk’s Office has extended the annual Board, Commission, and Committee (BCC) recruitment through Sunday, May 31. BCC members serve as ambassadors of the City and provide highly valuable community perspectives that help shape City policies. We are still seeking applications from community members to fill the following vacancies:

• Arts Commission – 3 full-term seats expiring May 31, 2030
• Board of Port Commissioners – 2 full-term seats expiring July 31, 2030
• Historic Resources Advisory Committee (appointed by the Planning Commission) – 2 full-term seats expiring May 31, 2029
