Volunteer Spotlight

Since January 2019, RideConnect has signed on more than 53 volunteer drivers. Thank you all so much for your interest in our program. As always, we wish to thank you for what you do each and every day for our older adult neighbors.
Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast

Our annual breakfast was held October 15 th and was a huge success. We had over 60 attendees. Many thanks to The Club at Briarcliff Manor for hosting the event. This year we asked our volunteers to tell us in writing why they drive for RideConnect and what they get out it. Pictured below is Susan C. with one example. Special speaker Matt Ganis gave an interesting and fun presentation on the subject of astronomy, highlighting the relationship between the huge number of volunteer miles driven with the vast size of the universe. Finally, for our listening pleasure, we were entertained by local band, The Big Easies, who played some wonderful Dixieland tunes for us. We look forward to next year’s breakfast!

Speed Networking Event
There was laughter, great conversation and scrumptious culinary delights on November 7 when Collaberex hosted a Speed Networking "Friend-Raiser" Event on behalf of RideConnect at Sam's of Gedney Way in White Plains. The evening of forging new business relationships was underwritten by Collaberex and its founder, Jonathan Rosen who presented RideConnect director Karen Ganis with a generous donation of the evening's proceeds at the close of the event.
Volunteer Birthdays
We wish all of our volunteers born in October and November a very Happy Birthday.

Ghosts, Goblins, Witches and Wizards were all present at RideConnect's Halloween Headquarters. A great time was had by all.
A Few Things to Remember...
How Can You Can Get Involved with RideConnect?
RideConnect is always seeking additional volunteer drivers. If you know of anyone who has a few extra hours to spare that is looking to “give back” to the older adult community, they can simply contact our office at (914) 242-7433. We are flexible and happy to work with your schedule.
Save the Date! - June 9, 2020
Spring is Coming! We are busy planning our spring fundraiser so mark your calendars. This will be a memorable and fun event that you won't want to miss!
The ability to serve our clients relies on the generosity of our volunteer drivers and donors. Your tax deductible contribution helps us continue to serve older adults so they can continue to live with dignity and independence.
Donor Highlights
RideConnect would like to thank the Field Hall Foundation for their recent generous grant. Some of the funding went to start a pilot ride program for our clients on dialysis. We send a Lyft driver to transport a client who has a ride from a volunteer in one direction only. This enables the client to have round-trip transportation for this essential medical treatment.
