Turning Our Hearts Back to God

"Even now," declares the Lord, "return to me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning." - Joel 2:12–13

As we begin the journey toward Easter, the first step is not celebration, it is returning.

Throughout Scripture, whenever God prepares His people for renewal, He first calls them back to Himself. Joel’s words remind us that God is not looking for outward performances of religion. He is inviting something deeper: a heart that is fully His.

Sometimes we drift without even realizing it. Life becomes busy. Faith becomes routine. Prayer becomes quick. Scripture becomes occasional.

Yet God’s invitation is always the same: “Return to me.”

Calling all RidgeRunners kids in 1st through 5th grade!

Camp 4:12 is on for June 14-18!

Early Bird registration total of $360 for the first 50

campers who pay their deposit.

Total cost increases to $395 after the first 50 registered kids.

Camp 4:12 is an amazing week of fun, encouragement, and faith development for kids entering 2nd through 6th grades. Each year The Ridge partners with St. Mark to host this overnight camp that runs from Sunday afternoon through Thursday afternoon at Pine Eden Christian Retreat Center in Hamilton, GA. Campers will experience worship and teaching, lots of swimming and recreation, crafts, chill time, great food, and their choice of two daily electives like canoeing, theater, sports, games, wilderness survival and lots more! Cabins are organized by age and gender with around 12 campers each and are led by a team of one adult counselor and 2 or 3 high school counselors. Scholarships are available through The Ridge for Ridge families.

We need volunteers including parents, grandparents, high school students and middle school students who want to make camp amazing for our RidgeRunners! Many roles do not involve staying overnight. Youth and children's ministry staff from our churches are on site all week, but we need a great team of volunteers to make camp a success. Please sign up below and contact Nathan if you are interested in helping in one of the following areas: cabin counselor, kitchen helper, lifeguard, elective leader, setup/cleanup, music team, or crafts.

March Themes

Pre-K ~ A Test in the Desert

Elementary ~ Forgiveness

Hey Parents!

Our March Pre-K RidgeRunners theme is "A test in the Desert." We're learning how sin makes our heart dirty, but we can ask Jesus for his love and forgiveness and he will wash our hearts clean from sin. We can stay pure like Jesus did by saying no to sin when he was tested in the desert.

Bible Point: What do you say to sin? "I say no to sin!"

Key Verse: "God, create a pure heart in me." Psalm 51:10 (paraphrased)

This March in Elementary RidgeRunners, we're learning what it means to be forgiven by God through Jesus and to forgive others as he forgives us.

Car Talk:

1. This month on UpStreet, we’re talking about forgiveness. So what does it mean to really forgive someone?

2. What is one thing you did or said to someone this week that you wish you could take back? Did you apologize?

3. Sometimes we think that forgiveness is for the other person, but how does forgiving someone actually help YOU?

Memory Verse: “Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.” Colossians 3:13 NIV

-College Ministry-

Summit College Ministry connects and supports our college-age young adults by providing a bridge between their involvement in on-campus ministries and The Ridge. With that in mind, many of our studies and activities are scheduled during school breaks, but with a few more students and young adults in town, we will be adding some opportunities during the semester as well.

High school graduates ages 18 through 25 are invited to Summit events. Sam Lord is our college ministry coordinator under the direction of Nathan and Autumn Carr.

Upcoming Events:

Souled Out: June 1-5 * Camp 4:12: June 14-19 * Grad/College Trip: July 31-Aug 3

Prayer & Celebration

As a church family, we believe in the power of prayer and the gift of walking alongside one another in every season. We invite you to lift up the following individuals and families in prayer this week:

Bonnie McNeil & Family

Please keep Bonnie McNeil and her family in your prayers following the passing of her father, Philip Edward Cain, on March 3. Pray for comfort and peace for Bonnie, Darryl, and their entire family as they grieve the loss of a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. May the Lord surround them with His presence, give them strength in the days ahead, and remind them of the hope and promise we have in Christ, even in times of sorrow.

Annette Hutto

Please keep Annette in your prayers as she receives chemotherapy. We ask the Lord for healing, strength, and endurance throughout her treatments, for minimal side effects, and for peace that surpasses understanding. We also pray for provision, for physical needs, emotional support, and every resource required during this season, and for God’s presence to be felt clearly by Annette and her loved ones.

Gabbie Watson

Please pray for Gabbie as she continues her chemotherapy treatments. We ask the Lord for effective results, minimal side effects, and His comforting, steady presence to surround both Gabbie and her family. We also give thanks for her strength and for God’s faithfulness in every step of this journey.

Marietta Webb

Please continue to keep Marietta in your prayers as she recovers at home following surgery on February 11 for a torn Achilles tendon sustained in a fall. On February 26, she had a cast placed as part of her healing process, and we are grateful for this next step forward.

Jimmy Traywick

Please keep Jimmy Traywick in your prayers. Jimmy, the brother of Gary and Dawn Traywick, is currently in the MICU at St. Francis Hospital and in need of God’s healing touch. Let us pray for the Lord’s mercy, strength, and restoration in his body, as well as peace and comfort for his family during this difficult time.

Sophia Kandra

Please continue to lift Sophia Kandra and her family in prayer as they await important test results regarding some ongoing health concerns. Pray for wisdom for the doctors, clear answers in the days ahead, and for God’s healing presence and peace to surround Sophia and her loved ones.

Jessica Underwood

Please keep Jessica Underwood in your prayers as she prepares for an upcoming medical procedure and continues attending doctor’s appointments in the days ahead. Pray for wisdom for her medical team, for peace and encouragement for Jessica, and for the Lord’s healing hand to be upon her throughout this process.

Chuck Darling

Please keep Chuck Darling in your prayers as he prepares for a procedure on March 12 in Atlanta. While it is expected to be routine, pray for a successful surgery, a smooth recovery, and for God to grant peace and confidence in the days leading up to it. Pray also that the Lord would strengthen and encourage Chuck, guide the medical team with wisdom and steady hands, and bring renewed health through this procedure. May he rest in the assurance of God’s faithful presence and care each step of the way.

If you have a prayer request or know someone in need of prayer, please email Andy at andy@theridgecolumbus.com. It is our joy and privilege to pray with and for you.
