We live in a world built on status.

You move up the ladder.

You gain influence.

You get authority.

You earn the right to be listened to.

And then Jesus walks in… and flips the ladder over.

The disciples were arguing about who was the greatest, who would have the best position in the Kingdom of God. They were thinking like everybody else thinks: closeness to power equals importance.

Jesus’ response is one of the most shocking statements in the Gospels.

He doesn’t say, “Greatness doesn’t matter.”

He doesn’t say, “Leadership is bad.”

He says:

Greatness in My Kingdom looks like serving.

Ridge Confirmation Class 2026

Do you want to help your student understand and claim their faith? We want to help your family with that, so we're inviting you to be a part of Confirmation this year!

Confirmation is a Christian formation class about understanding and claiming your faith. It's designed especially for middle school students, though older students who have not been through confirmation are also invited to participate. At the end of the process, students will have the opportunity to publicly profess faith in Christ and be either confirmed, rededicated or baptized, depending on their history, as well as joining The Ridge as a full member.

RYM Winter Ski Retreat, February 13-16, 2026 at Winterplace Ski Resort in West Virginia! 

We have a few remaining spots! For more info & to register, click HERE.

We will experience two days of skiing plus a group excursion with lodging at the Cabins at Pine Haven. Winterplace is one of the East's best ski resorts featuring 8 beginner runs, 6 intermediate runs, 4 advanced runs, a terrain park, and a snow tubing hill! 

We’ll also spend time meeting together for worship and devotion sessions where we’ll grow closer to one another and focus on how we can grow in Christ as a group. 

Cost is $425/student which includes most meals, ski equipment, helmet, lodging, transportation and activities. Scholarships are available to all Ridge students to help offset the cost. 

If your student needs ski clothes, goggles, etc, we can help you find/borrow the gear you need!

Guys - Meeting 2 times/month on Wednesdays from 6:30-8:00pm. Check with Nathan for dates and locations.

-College Ministry-

Summit College Ministry connects and supports our college-age young adults by providing a bridge between their involvement in on-campus ministries and The Ridge. With that in mind, many of our studies and activities are scheduled during school breaks, but with a few more students and young adults in town, we will be adding some opportunities during the semester as well.

High school graduates ages 18 through 25 are invited to Summit events. Sam Lord is our college ministry coordinator under the direction of Nathan and Autumn Carr.

Prayer & Celebration

As a church family, we believe in the power of prayer and the gift of walking alongside one another in every season. We invite you to lift up the following individuals and families in prayer this week:

Annette Hutto

Please keep Annette in your prayers as she receives chemotherapy. We ask the Lord for healing, strength, and endurance throughout her treatments, for minimal side effects, and for peace that surpasses understanding. We also pray for provision, for physical needs, emotional support, and every resource required during this season, and for God’s presence to be felt clearly by Annette and her loved ones.

Coy Nichols

Please continue to lift Coy in prayer as he is now home recovering following his shoulder surgery. We give thanks for a successful procedure and ask the Lord to continue guiding his healing in the days ahead. Pray for strength as he regains mobility, patience throughout the recovery process, and for comfort and rest as his body heals. May Coy experience the Lord’s peace and presence in this season, and may each day bring renewed strength and steady progress.

Gabbie Watson

Please pray for Gabbie as she continues her chemotherapy treatments. We ask the Lord for effective results, minimal side effects, and His comforting, steady presence to surround both Gabbie and her family. We also give thanks for her strength and for God’s faithfulness in every step of this journey.

Marietta Webb

Please continue to keep Marietta in your prayers as she recovers at home following surgery on February 11 for a torn Achilles tendon sustained in a fall. We are thankful the procedure was able to move forward after earlier concerns with heart irregularities, and we praise God for bringing her safely through surgery. Pray now for steady healing and protection from complications, for strength and patience during the recovery process, and for comfort in the slower pace this season requires. Ask the Lord to surround Marietta with His peace, to renew her encouragement day by day, and to give her a deep confidence in His presence, timing, and faithful care every step of the way.

Sebastien Gillardo

Please keep Sebastien Gillardo in your prayers as he is currently undergoing a series of medical tests to help doctors determine the cause of some concerning symptoms and whether any serious health conditions are present. Pray for clear answers and wisdom for his medical team, peace and calm for Sebastien as he waits, and strength and encouragement for him and his family. May he feel the Lord’s nearness and comfort in this season, trusting in His care and faithfulness each step of the way.
