The Joy That Finds Us

Luke 2:8–14 (ESV)

“And in the same region there were shepherds out in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with great fear. And the angel said to them, ‘Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.’ And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, ‘Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!’”

December Themes

Pre-K ~ The First Christmas Gift

Elementary ~ Christmas: The BIG Plan Leading to Jesus

Hey Parents!

Our December Pre-K RidgeRunners theme is "The First Christmas Gift." We're learning to celebrate Jesus' birthday by being givers like God. God sent Jesus as a very special Christmas present to the world. Jesus saves us and shows God's love so we can give to others to show God's love!

Bible Point: I give because God gave me Jesus!

Key Verse: John 3:16 'God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only son.' (paraphrased)

This December in Elementary RidgeRunners, we're learning how Jesus is God's plan to save us and the whole world.

Car Talk:

1. What is the best Christmas present you've ever gotten? What made it the best?

2. When Jesus was born, angels and shepherds celebrated. Why do you think people celebrated that Jesus was born?

3. What is one thing you love or learned about the Christmas story this Christmas?

Memory Verse: For to us a child is born, to us a son is given and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” - Isaiah 9:6 NIV

the Summit Winter Retreat January 1- 4 in Orlando, Florida!

Summit College Ministry connects and supports our college-age young adults by providing a bridge between their involvement in on-campus ministries and The Ridge. With that in mind, many of our studies and activities are scheduled during school breaks, but with a few more students in town, we will be adding some opportunities during the semester as well.

High school graduates ages 18 through 25 are invited to Summit events. Sam Lord is our college ministry coordinator under the direction of Nathan and Autumn Carr.

Please Join Us In Prayer

We invite you to lift up the following individuals and families in prayer this week:

Urgent and Ongoing Needs

Peggy Fenner Family – Please hold Peggy’s family and loved ones in your prayers, as Peggy has now gone home to be with the Lord. Pray that God’s comforting presence will surround all who loved her, and that He will pour out strength, peace, and tender grace in this sacred time of grief and remembrance. May His nearness be their refuge, and may Peggy’s life be honored through the love we share and the hope we hold in Christ.

Gabbie Watson – Please pray for Gabbie as she continues her chemotherapy treatments. Pray for effective results, minimal side effects, and the comforting presence of the Lord to surround her and her family.

Stephanie Mendoza – Please pray for Stephanie as she prepares for a medical procedure in the coming weeks. Ask the Lord to bring calm to her spirit, wisdom to her doctors, and a smooth and successful outcome.

Sue Vaughan – Please pray for Sue as she recovers from a serious accident. Ask for God’s healing hand to be upon her, for protection through every procedure, and for strength throughout her recovery process.

If you have a prayer request or know someone who does, please email Andy at andy@theridgecolumbus.com.
