Association Updates

Dear MAA Members,

For those of you who I have not had the pleasure of meeting yet, my name is Lindsay Thompson and as of July 1, I am the new Executive Director of the Maryland Arborist Association. My team has had a great first few months working with the Maryland Arborist Association.

We have hit the ground running, and begun planning for the MAA/MOSH joint event, Rigging, Regulations, and More!. This event will be very similar to last year’s offering classroom learning sessions, interactive demonstrations, and networking opportunities. It is recommended that anyone in need of Maryland LTE, MD CPH, MAC-ISA, or TCIA-CTSP credits by the end of the year should register for educational workshop. See the full event brochure here.
Please be reminded that a large number of memberships renewed 6/30/17. We are currently reaching out to members that have not renewed. Members are encouraged to log-on to our website to make sure their membership is current.

Thank you,

Lindsay Thompson

The Helen Avalynne Tawes Garden included a write-up of MAA’s 2017 Arbor Day in their publication, The Black Eyed Susan. “The crews made great strides in the morning as approx.. 40 tree experts removed sixteen hazardous or dead mature trees, which translates to approx.. $44,000 dollars in value,” the report reads. “The garden staff and the Friends of Tawes Garden, Inc. wish to extend their thanks and gratitude for the extensive tree work that was safely performed on the trees throughout the garden by the professional courteous crews.”

The Vice-President will then become President for 2 years. Biographies of this year’s candidates can be found here .
