Regarding romantic relationships: before you "connect" consider the position of the person. Best yet, consider the Lord's position. He is the One who created, established, and causes the plan to be; so whom better to seek for the way?
~ Gentlemen, "He who finds a wife finds a good thing..." - well, you better ask God who He designated for you to find.
~ Ladies, when one comes, we need to ask the Lord if he is "His" one for you.
Many will ask, "Is it really that serious? Well I tell you, "YES, IT IS THAT SERIOUS."
A house divided against itself - in beliefs, respect and loyalty to God and each other, financial goals, aspirations and expectations - cannot stand. God is not pleased or impressed by our improvising on His commandments in any regard of our lives; but especially in our relationship alliances and unions. So before you join financial accounts, sign leases/mortgages, make large/expensive purchases, and any other credit and life commitments together, or make any physical connections, seek the Lord.
Ask Him if this is the union He has designated for you. Then make it right - HIS RIGHT...on HIS YES. If He says no or not yet, remove yourself from the temptation, and thwart arrows of reasoning and rationalizing with trust in God and His plans for you. Put your efforts into becoming whole in the Lord prior to the union; making it oh so much sweeter, stronger and stable than joining in a broken state. There will be things to work on, but the foundation will have been solidified. Glory to God!
Closing considerations -
Will this person share your determination to love the Lord; to build and thrive in following His directives, instruction and strategies?
Although in each their own way, will that person worship the Lord in unity with you - from the heart in word and deed?
Are you two on the same page, (beyond the physical), now and for the future of your union and camp (generations)?
God has great for each of His children. We need to stop sidestepping His directions; and stalling the release of His blessings. He will turn an evil-intended thing around for our good; but following Him from the onset is divine. Hallelujah!!!
