Greetings!

Director Laura Demulder says, "Ripcord is a play about two strong, yet very different women sharing a room later in life. Their story involves comedy, heart touching drama, and absolute absurdity! The cast has brought so much richness to each character and watching this extraordinary group of actors inhabit characters with such emotional range and comic precision has been a true joy. Join us as we bring this story to life through great acting and technical effects."

Ripcord runs February 20 to March 8. Tickets are on sale at Choose Refill or online (button below).

Ripcord is presented by special arrangement with Broadway Licensing, LLC, servicing the Dramatists Play Service collection. (www.dramatists.com)

Constance Ledbelly is trying to decipher a coded manuscript which she believes is the lost source for Othello and Romeo and Juliet. Not only does she decode the manuscript but she literally falls into the two plays and causes each of them to turn from tragedy to comedy. Join us on Wed. January 28 at 7:00 pm for this month's play reading, the comedy, Goodnight Desdemona (Good Morning Juliet) which was the 1990 winner of the Governor General's Literary Award for Drama. Cast - 4 males, 3 females. You may choose to read a part or just listen.

Shuswap Theatre is excited to once again be a part of UNPLUG AND PLAY week, organized by the Literacy Society of the Shuswap (LASS). Join us at the Theatre on Saturday, January 24 from 12 - 1 to explore the dramatic arts through creativity and playing theatre based games. Children of all ages welcome. If you are interested in helping out, contact Nedine.

Check out all of the fun activities for Unplug and Play week, January 24-31, on the LASS website.

Auditions for our spring production, The Book of Will, will happen on February 22, 23 & 24 at 7:00pm. There are parts for male and female actors from 20 - 60ish. The Book of Will is an historical fictionalized true story of love, loss and laughter and sheds new light on a man you may think you know. Without William Shakespeare, we wouldn’t have literary masterpieces like Romeo and Juliet. But without Henry Condell and John Heminges we would have lost half of Shakespeare’s plays forever. Email director Julia Body if you have questions. The Book of Will is also our entry into the Okanagan Zone Drama Festival in Oliver, which takes place shortly after the run here.
