Raspberry – a silly name for one of the softest, most delicate fruits out there. Regardless, they're at their peak right now, and we can’t get enough of them, even if the occasional seed gets lodged into our back molar. We’re grateful to finally have more around our markets this year thanks to the addition of ALD&Y Organic Farm, Chay’s Farm, C&M Farm, and Narci Organics in the past year, all of whom are Latine owned and operated! Grab a pint of blueberries alongside your pint of raspberries for a festive 4th of July picnic.

Basil Raspberry Lemonade

Ingredients

  • 1 c. fresh lemon juice
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. fresh raspberries
  • 1/2 c. fresh basil leaves, plus sprigs for garnish

Instructions

  1. Combine lemon juice, sugar, raspberries, and basil in a mason jar. Muddle with a muddler or the handle of a wooden spoon until raspberries are broken down. Tightly screw on the lid, and shake until the sugar is dissolved, about 1 minute. Let sit 1 hour.
  2. Pour sugar mixture into a large pitcher. Top with 6 cups water and ice. Serve over ice garnished basil sprigs
