Environmental Awards Now Open
Administrator Michael S. Regan of the EPA believes advancing environmental education is key to protecting our communities.

“I’ve been so impressed with the teachers and students across the country who are leading these efforts," Regan said. "I’m looking forward to seeing the new and innovative ways they are sharing their knowledge through the 2022 competition.”

For 2022 award recipients, EPA is seeking applications on a variety of environmental topics from both teachers and students in grades K-12.

Eco-Extraordinaire:
Prairie School of DuPage Visits SCARCE
On October 12 and 14, SCARCE welcomed students from the Prairie School of DuPage. The students are working on their Earth and Water Quality flags for their school.

Watershed Model Travels To Hawthorne & Jefferson Schools in Elmhurst
Hawthorne and Jefferson elementary schools in Elmhurst had watershed models visit this month! The models are interactive tools for teaching about watersheds and pollution.

Students from Addison Trail, Carmel Catholic, Downers Grove South, Hinsdale South, Solorio Academy, Wheaton North and York High Schools helped make Pumpkin Smash Successful!
Wheaton North and Elk Grove High School students joined the team helping at the monthly Wheaton electronics recycling event.
Park View Elementary School students helped sort and peel crayons for our Super Crayon Project.
Thanks to everyone who gave their time this month to make the world cleaner and greener!
