Call attention to the effort for trash-free waterways by taking part in Skip the Straw Day! Plastic straws are not recyclable and pollute waterways and harms wildlife. The solution can be as simple as requesting "no straw" when ordering a beverage.
Upcycle old milk or juice cartons in a creative & useful way for a chance to win funds for your school garden. Registrants will receive lesson plans inspired by past winners. A total of 15 prizes will be awarded included a grand prize of $5,000 towards garden needs.
Your students can join the  Water's Worth It campaign by submitting a short essay on the importance of clean water. First place is awarded $300 and is published in Central States Water Magazine.
More than 36,000 bread tags have been collected by the SCARCE community and donated to Danielle Cares for Chairs. If you're already collecting, keep it coming! If not, get started on this easy project with printable bin labels here.
Attention art teachers! Do you have students interested in submitting their pollinator-inspired art for this upcoming exhibit? The show runs May-June and is co-sponsored by the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County and the DuPage Monarch Project.
Our recycling costs have jumped! Help us keep costs down by removing non-usable papers before donating such as: notebook pages with writing, old documents in folders/files, worksheets, magazines, and homemade items. As a small non-profit, every bit helps. Thank you!
