This month we continue to celebrate our fellow citizens joining in to protect our waterways through the Storm Drain Medallion Project. The City of Naperville has developed an innovative volunteer program to empower community members to help reduce flooding and protect waterways from pollution. k

County Partners with Elmhurst Schools for Cool Yule
The holiday season is fast approaching and you'll soon see holiday decorations going up. The County is already preparing for the 3rd annual Cool Yule program. This year DuPage County is excited to announce their partnership with Conrad Fisher Elementary and Emerson Elementary from the Elmhurst Community Unit School District 205. Green STEM: Learn with Us on Institute Day

Join SCARCE for a free experiential learning class on DuPage County's Institute Day. Earn 6 PD credits while enhancing your understand through site visits and hands-on activities. Two programs are offered, check them out below:

The Sustainable Design Challenge is a one-of-a-kind educational opportunity that combines research with a hands-on project, collaboration, career exploration and a healthy bit of competition. Students work in teams to design and construct a sustainable building model and present their project to judges in a bid for cash prizes - and that's just the morning!

Learn first-hand from students why this is an opportunity not-to-miss:
Whether you are an eco-club sponsor, science teacher or career advisor, you can help your students take part. This program is free and open to any DuPage County high school student.

Registration opens in February 2019.

SCARCE has a large collection of plastic bottle caps ready for your creative touch! Stop by and get them before they're gone!

Is your school or eco-club considering an improvement project that could help improve local water quality? Apply for funds for projects such as permeable pavers, native plant gardens, streambank stabilization, green roofs and more. Applications due Jan 11th, 2019.
