America Recycles Day is Nov 15th
In honor of America Recycles Day do a school recycling check-up - SCARCE can help! During a waste audit, students will determine your school's recycling strengths and weaknesses and discuss actions for improvement.
Contact us to schedule 630-545-9710 or [email protected].
Everyone is hands-on sorting waste and taking notes on interesting findings.
Collecting data: after waste is sorted it is weighed.
A Naperville school's creative idea to improve their recycling - sample recyclables.
Get crafty with your students! Follow these instructions to weave a 14" square from plastic bag "yarn". Finished squares work well as sit upons. Multiple squares can be used to make a bag, pillow, or napping pad.

Pair this craft with the book One Plastic Bag by Miranda Paul.

Go a step further and join the Trex Plastic Film Recycling Challenge, which starts Nov 15th. More info.
The Green School Awards celebrate the hard work being done by schools to push the green movement forward. Nominate yourself or someone you know that is making significant strides toward creating sustainable schools.
