TRAFFIC IMPACTS:

A culvert replacement project is starting on Vermont Route 125 approximately 3.4 miles from the intersection with U.S. Route 7. On Monday, crews will be accessing the shoulders on the regional detour route (VT 125, U.S. 7, Vermont Route 100, and Vermont Route 73) to install message boards. Tuesday through Friday, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., flaggers will direct traffic through single-lane closures through the work zone.

CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES:

The contractor will begin to mobilize to the site next week. They will install message boards for the upcoming closure and then access the site to begin installing the temporary stream diversion and erosion control. Single-lane closures will be in place.

UPCOMING CLOSURE:

As a part of this project, there will be a 12 day closure of VT 125

at a location approximately 3.4 miles east of the

intersection with U.S. Route 7.

The closure is planned to begin on July 27, 2026 at 7 a.m. and to be completed on or before August 7, 2026 at 6 p.m. A signed regional detour will be in place directing traffic on U.S. 7, VT 73, and VT 100. Additional information/confirmation about the closure period will be distributed on Monday, July 13th.

LOCATION:

The Ripton ER P23-1(322) project will replace the Bridge #13A culvert on Vermont Route 125. As a part of this project, there will be a 12 day closure of VT 125 at a location approximately 3.4 miles east of the intersection with U.S. Route 7. A final construction completion date is scheduled for September 18, 2026.
