A New Toolkit for Engaging Youth in Ocean Health and Conservation - With support from The Ocean Foundation and National Geographic Society, a group of young writers between the ages of 18-25 are creating a “youth ocean action toolkit” focused on the ocean literacy principles and marine protected areas (MPAs). Wednesday, March 15, 1 pm US EDT/10 am US PDT/5 pm UTC.

RAY Conservation & Clean Energy Fellowships - A two-year paid fellowship designed to equip recent college graduates with the tools, experiences, support, and community they need to become leaders in the conservation and clean energy sectors. Aims to increase and facilitate conservation career pathways for emerging leaders of color. Must have the ability to work in the USA. Apply by 27th March.

Biomimicry Institute: Youth Design Challenge - A team competition for students grades 6-12. Work together to find nature-inspired solutions to address a social and/or environmental issue related to a Sustainable Development Goal. Provides educators with a Challenge framework, curriculum, and resources for offering a biomimicry design experience to student teams in a school-based or extracurricular setting. Deadline to register 28th March, 2023.

Hispanic Access Foundation Our Planet Film Week - A space where creatives, filmmakers, climate justice advocates, and others working on environmental topics can come, showcase, and celebrate, the stories of Latino, Black, Indigenous and other people of color in connection to the lands, nature, waterways, and oceans we all call home. Up to $5000 USD mini-grants available. Submit by 31 March.

9th Annual Millennium Oceans Prize - Celebrating youth activists focused on enriching their communities through advancing marine and freshwater conservation and sustainable use of marine resources. $5000 prize, with mentorship on campaign implementation. Apply by 31st March.

2023 Youth Innovation Challenge - Propose innovative solutions that address and respond to critical issues related to water. Compete for $15,000 CAD in seed funding. For North American youth, ages 18-30. Submit by 3rd April.

Gloria Barron Prize for Young Heroes - Annually honoring 25 outstanding young leaders in the US and Canada ages 8 to 18 who have made a significant positive impact on people, their communities, and the environment. Apply by 15th April.

Climate-Resilient Fisheries Fellowship - A yearlong Fellowship for early-career entrepreneurs and organizations working on projects anywhere in the world that benefit fisheries and promote their ecological, socioeconomic, and community resilience to climate change. Fellows receive a grant funding, access to mentorship, and online courses to develop skills. Apply by 16th April.

Story of Stuff Grassroots Grants - Supporting underfunded organizations and communities addressing a myriad of environmental and social justice issues, with a focus on fights over water privatization and plastic pollution. Prioritizing BIPOC-led and serving groups. Currently US only; Applications reviewed and awarded on quarterly basis.

Capitol Hill Ocean Week 2023 - Convened by the National Marine Sanctuary Foundation every June, CHOW brings together scientists, policymakers, scholars, businesses, and conservation leaders to address pressing conservation, science, and management issues facing our oceans and Great Lakes. Virtual and in-person in Washington, DC. 6-8th June.
