World Ocean Day is right around the corner!

This month there are thousands of event organizers celebrating our one shared ocean on and around 8 June, World Ocean Day!

In some places, the festivities and activities have already begun. Check out the World Ocean Day Events Calendar and World Map to search events and activities, including many options to participate in virtual events, and lots of events

specifically focused on youth engagement.

If you already have plans to host your own ocean or conservation-related event this month for World Ocean Day, don’t forget to submit the details here, and it will be

shared with the world!

All World Ocean Day event organizers are encouraged to incorporate an advocacy action into their plans!

This year, we’re asking everyone to share why they think it’s important to protect our lands, waters, and ocean.

Learn more about how you can join the conversation online and spread the word about this action using the 30x30 Action Guide

and social media assets.

Are you a youth ocean advocate between ages 16-23?

The application to join the

World Ocean Day Youth Advisory Council

will open at the end of this month!

With their fresh ideas and unique perspectives, members of the World Ocean Day Youth Advisory Council are instrumental in shaping World Ocean Day, growing its reach and impact in June and advocating for ocean and climate conservation throughout the year.

Applicants should be youth ages 16-23, who are already committed to protecting our blue planet, with a recognition of the connection between the ocean and climate. Ideal candidates value collaboration and action as key strategies, and are willing to share their experience, expertise, and ideas with others to encourage more people around the world to engage in actions that will protect and restore our shared blue planet.

More information coming soon to those on this email list!

If someone you know may be interested in applying to join the Council, be sure to forward this email! Make sure they are subscribed to the Rising Blue Network Newsletter to be notified when the application opens.
