High Seas Treaty Collaboration - Looking for youth and youth-focused organizations in Peru, Ecuador, Guatemala, Republic of Korea, Philippines, South Africa, Jamaica, Barbados, Norway, Poland, Australia, Egypt and Brazil. We're also inviting you to participate in promoting HSA's new engagement tool by sending messages to world leaders urging them to ratify the High Seas Treaty, which will be showcased on a global map. Additionally, we encourage you to submit a short social media video (30 seconds max) highlighting the treaty's importance and inspiring others to add their message to the map.

We are hosting a special 5th session of Youth Advocacy Training specifically designed to learn how to work with these trusted community facilities to enact positive change for the planet.



Special Session 5 – Youth Taking Action with ZAMs

Saturday, 15 March, at 7pm EDT/ 11pm GMT


This session focuses on how young people can apply their advocacy skills within public-facing informal education institutions such as zoos, aquariums, and museums (ZAMs). Participants will learn how ZAMs engage with youth, ways they can help influence institutional policy, and strategies to propose and lead impactful conservation initiatives.

March Focus: Support a Robust and Just Global Plastics Treaty


A strong global plastics treaty is urgently needed to combat pollution and environmental injustices caused by fossil fuel and petrochemical companies, which harm marginalized communities near plastic production and disposal sites.

Here are a few ways you can get more informed and involved: 

Global Youth Climate Training Programme (GYCT)

This program offers young people (aged 16-35) the opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge of climate policy, enhance their advocacy skills through interactive sessions, and connect with a global network of youth leaders. Participants who complete the programme will earn a certificate and may apply for a £3000 bursary to attend COP30 in Brazil, gaining a powerful platform to represent youth voices in global climate discussions. Apply by 21 March, 2025.

Our Shared Ocean – Mobility and Travel Grants 2025

This program offers valuable opportunities for individuals and institutions in Small Island Developing States (SIDS) to expand their knowledge, strengthen scientific and technical skills, and build long-term partnerships with Irish institutions. Recipients can gain funding for conferences, workshops, training, and research visits, empowering them to address ocean, climate, and sustainable blue economy challenges while enhancing their expertise and networks. Apply by 11 April, 2025 and on a rolling bases.


This monthly update supports youth-focused organizations and emerging leaders by connecting and empowering youth across the globe. It reaches subscribers in 150 countries. Powered by the collective action of all, together we can grow a movement for a more equitable & sustainable society and a healthy blue planet!
