High Seas Treaty Collaboration - Looking for youth and youth-focused organizations in Peru, Ecuador, Guatemala, Republic of Korea, Philippines, South Africa, Jamaica, Barbados, Norway, Poland, Australia, Egypt and Brazil. If you are from one of these countries and are interested in collaborating for BBNJ action, let us know! Please forward this widely to anyone you know in these countries. We're also inviting you to participate in promoting HSA's new engagement tool by sending messages to world leaders urging them to ratify the High Seas Treaty, which will be showcased on a global map. Additionally, we encourage you to submit a short social media video (30 seconds max) highlighting the treaty's importance and inspiring others to add their message to the map.

April Focus: Do something great for Earth Day
This month, we are partnering with EarthDay.org to empower individuals and organizations worldwide to make smart energy choices and push for rapid renewable energy adoption by governments, industries, and businesses. A stable climate and a healthy ocean go hand in hand—and renewable energy is key to protecting both.
Take action to support global climate action by signing a renewable energy petition for COP 30 and committing to monthly Earth Day actions that build momentum toward World Ocean Day 2025!

#OpenDoorClimate is a community of climate professionals making themselves available to chat with climate career seekers. By offering an #opendoorclimate policy, they are volunteering time to have quick chats with those looking to enter the climate field to share their journey and answer questions. #OpendoorClimate also provides various resources to gain climate job skills, find career paths, networking communities and so much more!

10th Our Ocean Conference
This conference will take place from April 28–30 in Busan, South Korea, serving as a pivotal moment for global action to safeguard the ocean and the communities that rely on it. With the ocean facing critical threats from climate change and human activity, the conference will focus on seven priority areas: climate change, marine pollution, MPAs, maritime security, the blue economy, sustainable fisheries, and digital oceans. Live stream will be available. From 28-30 April, 2025.

UNOC3 Hackathon-Participatory Science for Ocean
Be the voice of YOUTH at the UN Ocean Conference in June 2025! Join the #ParticipatoryScience for #Ocean Hackathon and develop science education actions that truly engage your community in protecting the Ocean. From interactive workshops to storytelling, podcasts, and youth mobilization, you'll co-create educational tools that inspire curiosity and empower change. Your initiative be part of the youth delegation showcased at the UN Ocean Conference in Nice.

The Iris Prize is an annual award that empowers young environmental leaders by funding their nature-focused projects and providing tools, resources, and networks to scale their impact. With three categories, it supports both established initiatives and early-stage ideas from youth aged 16–24, recognizing diverse approaches to nature restoration and sustainability.

We need a healthy National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) for a healthy ocean and a stable climate. If you work with a club, group or other type of organization, please call on Congress to reject efforts to dismantle or diminish NOAA by joining over 900* organizations and businesses in signing onto this letter this month. You can also use this toolkit to amplify the letter.
