Our special thanks also to the Kin Club of Fort Edmonton, for their generous donation towards Walk In My Shoes, directly supporting the programs here at Pilgrims Hospice.
Our Funding
This year, we will receive just 20.37% of our funding from the Government - so Foundation Grants, Donations (both Corporate and Individual) and our Fundraising efforts are vital to our existence.
Please support our Programs with your donation or participation in our Special Events. Thank you

Rising HopeHope

Greg Yanda's association with Pilgrims Hospice  began when his wife Sheila, after a long battle with severe depression, took her own life on April 21, 2010. Greg brought his daughter Emily, who was 9 years old at the time, to Pilgrims Hospice later that year so she could attend the Expressive Arts for Grieving Children, Teens and Families

The positive experiences Greg and Emily had at Pilgrims helped shape how they dealt with their tragedy. Through the art and music therapy program, Emily was given tools to express her grief and Greg was able to connect with many adults who were dealing with the loss of a loved one.  All these were major steps to recovering and beginning to thrive once again in their lives.

Greg's Painting: Rising Hope

Greg and Emily are modest about their artistic talents but the painting Emily created and gave to the 2014 Walk In My Shoes gala raised $47,000 in donations and now hangs in the main hallway of the hospice. Greg had not painted since losing his wife but recently decided to begin again, as another part of his healing. Following in his daughter's footsteps, he's donating a painting to raise funds at this year's Walk In My Shoes gala. His title and vision of 'Rising Hope' is heart-warming.
