Notes from a changing world...
April 2021
The ongoing climate crisis already had dramatic effects on our environment. By the time the world was declaring COVID-19 a global pandemic, climate change was at the forefront of news headlines around the world. However, the world’s urgency in tackling the climate crisis shifted as the impact of the pandemic wore on. It is arguably said that the causes of both crises share commonalities, and their effects are converging.

In this regard, we have to build resilience in our communities and the impacts of climate change are just the most important actions we must try to work on. Locally-led action is at the heart of how we must invest, how we must begin to design for the future, and design our businesses for the future. The Climate Crisis will thrust more than 100 million people into poverty. That scale of change is massive and the focus must be on how we mitigate the negative impacts of climate change as effectively and efficiently as we can. As we invest in agriculture, let's invest in the people who contribute highly to the production of food, and that is Women. 80% of food consumed in non-industrialized countries is produced by small-scale farmers and 70% of them are women.
