The 2025 Youth Programs Symposium is fast approaching! Register now through April 11 to join youth program leaders and other faculty, staff, and stakeholders involved with youth programming at Iowa State as we share information, support, and inspiration. This is a virtual event from 8:15 am-12:30pm.

We are accepting nominations through March 28 for the first annual Youth Program Awards, to be presented during the Youth Programs Symposium on April 15. The awards recognize exceptional contributions by those who have made a lasting impact on youth programming during the 2024 calendar year.

Learn about business interruption insurance - upcoming workshop

Do you have questions about business interruption insurance – what it is, does your department need it, and if so, how much and how do you get it?

As part of Iowa State's October 1, 2025 insurance renewal, all university groups who purchase business interruption insurance must complete a business interruption worksheet. To better understand the new worksheet process and get your business interruption insurance questions answered, we encourage you to attend a one-hour business interruption insurance workshop hosted by risk management and led by Lockton, Iowa State's insurance broker.

The workshop will be offered virtually on April 22 from 10-11 am, and May 8 from 2-3 pm. Sign up for the workshop and get links to the virtual sessions by emailing Cally Jennett, insurance and claims manager.

Risk management staff will be on hand to answer your travel and event questions at Procurement Services' annual Travel and Event Services Showcase on April 1, from 12-3:30 pm in the Memorial Union Sun Room. Come say hello and learn how we help faculty, staff, and students with travel and event planning.

Now hiring: summer student office assistant

Risk management is seeking a student office assistant for part-time data entry, communications, and general office support, with an emphasis on youth programs and volunteers.

Duties may include, but are not limited to:

• reviewing and responding to youth program registration and volunteer registration inquiries and submissions in a timely and organized manner.

• daily processing of background check requests, MVR requests, and training course requirement completions.

• administrative tasks, including data entry, filing, and use of multiple online systems.

• customer service support, including answering routine questions and/or sending correspondence related to youth programs, volunteer registration, background check process, or referring to other staff when appropriate.

• performing miscellaneous tasks for risk management staff members and areas outside youth programs and volunteers as needed.
