Risk Management at study abroad fair

International risk manager Melanie Luick-Martins and communications manager Stacy Ewing attended the Study Abroad Center's study abroad fair held January 29. They answered destination-specific questions and provided general information about the services Risk Management provides to support safe and rewarding international travel. About 260 students attended the fair.

November trivia question: International risk manager Melanie Luick-Martins was in Mozambique in 2023 to witness and serve as emergency response lead for Cyclone Freddy, a category 5 cyclone and the longest-lasting cyclone ever recorded. How long did Cyclone Freddy last?

The correct answer: Five weeks. Freddy returned to sea and returned to land unexpectedly, catastrophically impacting numerous States in Mozambique.
