THANK YOU FOR A GREAT
2018 SEASON
To the River X community,
What a wonderful paddling season. With too many reasons why this was a great year we just want to say THANK YOU! As we look back over the last months it is YOU, paddlers and racers, that stand out. YOU that keep returning and supporting our events. YOU that challenge yourselves and achieve new successes. YOU that inspires new people to the sport of paddling and old paddlers to the sport of racing. YOU are the motivation that inspires us to improve, innovate, and offer novel opportunities to enjoy time on the water. Thank you for staying with us over these first 6 years. Thank you for choosing to spend your precious time at our events and thank you for considering River X events as YOUR events; the ones that are marked on your calendars year after year. So, with YOU in mind we keep working at this thing called River X and we are pleased to announce our new event for 2019; Algonquin Outfitters THE OX.
THE OX will replace the Big East River X and 24 Hours of River X in 2019. We think you will agree, this new race will be more than the sum of its predecessors. The Algonquin Outfitters Muskoka River X will be back in 2019 with the B-Side Course and Voyageur Option. If we can get 20 teams to roster, we will resurrect the 220km 2-day Coureur des Bois. As Jack Frost threatens to ice over the waterways and shut down the paddling season, River X Racing has already begun it's planning for next year. We look forward to seeing you on the water in 2019.
Cheers,
Mike and Rob

SEPTEMBER 13-14-15, 2019
Registration Limited to 70 Teams
The longest single day expedition paddling race in the world is back for it's 7th year! 2019 will continuing with the B-Side course, Voyageur Class and Le-Mans start. In response to a number of requests, we will bring back the 222km 2-Day Coureur des Bois. For those of you who are not aware of this beast of a race, teams traverse Algqonuin Park's 90km east-west route from Whitney to Oxtonque where teams camp overnight using only the gear they carried with them. The next day teams then complete the 132km B-Side MRX Classic. Oh, did we say there is a total of 40 portages?! We do need a minimum of 20 teams to run the Coueur des Bois so we encourage you to register early. If you do register and we don't have sufficient team numbers by June 2019 you will be rostered to the MRX Classic and the difference in registration fees will be refunded. This is your chance to bring back the mighty Coureur des Bois!
