May 2020 Week 9
Staying Connected and Creative
Each Wednesday during the stay-at-home advisory period,
we'll be sending out a variety of art-related links to help keep you connected

As quarantine continues, we're pivoting our programs and keeping community alive from a distance. Below find out four ways we're promoting the arts while also prioritizing our community's safety.

Summer Drama Workshop 2020 - Update

We're sad to say that, based on guidance from local, state, and national authorities, and in conversation with other local programs, like our friends at SPARC, we have come to the conclusion that there is no safe way for us to hold a theater camp this summer. Instead we are exploring virtual options - let us know what kinds of virtual programs your child would be interested by taking our survey!
Artist Appreciation Concert 2020 - Update

Given the continued restrictions on large gatherings, we have decided to cancel this year's Artist Appreciation Concert. If you submitted a nomination for the Artist Appreciation Award, we will hang onto it for next year when we look forward to bringing the arts back to Wood Park!
We need your help to keep going!

It takes a village of staff and artists to adapt and s ustain programming in  this  challenging environment we find ourselves in.

For a limited time, we're offering socially distanced portraits from local photographer Peter Worrest to thank you for donations of $15 or more. Claim your photo session for your own family or pay it forward with #TheFrontStepsProject. More info is available on our website!
How we're keeping community
Amid cancellations and postponements, we're still dedicated to enriching lives and creating community through the arts. Things are changing every day, so we're staying nimble and trying new, creative ways to stay in touch.

REHarmonix is meeting weekly via Zoom and working at home with rehearsal tracks

The River's Edge School of Music is completing the spring semester online with virtual lessons

We're brainstorming ways to bring theater to our SDW families this summer (don't forget to take the survey!)

And we're working on plans for a possible virtual recital sometime next month!
