Scott M. Bock Center Dedicated on October 2
On a beautiful autumn day, we dedicated the Scott M. Bock Center for Behavioral Healthcare & Family Services at 117 Summer Street in Somerville. It was a time to honor Riverside's late founder and proudly showcase the renovated building now housing an outpatient center, domestic violence services, and programs for youth and teens - a fitting tribute to Scott's legacy.

Riverside Opens on Lesley Campus
The Riverside Outpatient Center at Cambridge opened on the campus of Lesley University on October 3. Believed to be a first-of-its-kind initiative, the Riverside/Lesley partnership could become a national model for campus behavioral healthcare to address the emerging mental health needs of young adults. Last spring, Lesley wrote about this innovative partnership.
Grant Supports Student Mental Health Needs
A $425,000 grant from the Massachusetts Association for Mental Health will allow Riverside to implement a new model for urgent behavioral healthcare with the Milford Public Schools. Services include assessment, referral, and same-day access to a behavioral health consultation, with the goal of providing early intervention in order to avert crisis situations.

Update on Community Behavioral Healthcare Centers
Good progress is being made on Riverside’s Community Behavioral Health Centers (CBHCs) in South County (Milford) and Norwood, which will open in January. CBHCs will serve as entry points for timely, flexible, evidence-based treatment for mental health, substance use, and co-occurring disorders for MassHealth members of all ages. Riverside is hiring for over 100 positions (many have been filled internally), the electronic health records system is being modified for a more integrated and multidisciplinary approach to treatment, and renovations are underway, including at 206 Milford Street in Upton, which will have 15 beds for Respite and Community Crisis Stabilization.
Riverside Community Care makes a difference in the lives of individuals, families, and communities through innovative and compassionate behavioral healthcare and human services.
