MONDAY MEMO
1st graders Raleigh, Julian, and Oden played with kindergartener Azro in the mounds of snow we have under the cedar trees!
Greetings!

Fingers crossed that we can have a complete and regular week to catch up on lessons and routines at school!

Happy Monday,
Nelia
NOTES
18th ANNUAL AUCTION
Catalogues are ready! Contact Krystal to register for your lucky bid number and begin browsing the more than $32,000 worth of items that will be available on Saturday night. Knowing in advance what your priorities are can help you be sure to win what you most want! Registration/ticket costs can be paid in cash to Krystal or added to your auction total.

What makes the auction a real success is fresh faces! Please bring friends. Invite them now: $10/person or $15/couple includes a drink ticket, plenty of delicious food, door prizes (some worth $150), and entertainment by the Great Blue Herons and Lucas Weiss. What a fun night out! Register for your bid number in advance or at 5:30 on Saturday night.

We would still need a helper in the kitchen on Saturday night, if you'd rather donate your time to this event. Please let Krystal know if you can help.

Babysitting: there are still spots available, please sign up by emailing Krystal . The committee was told by parents that this was essential to making attendance easier, so we hope you will take advantage of it!
GEOGRAPHY BEE
Hanna is organizing our participation in the National Geography Bee and has been leading lunch time practice sessions for interested students. Anyone in 4-8th grade who would like to join in the competition should let her know. The Bee will be held during an extended assembly this Wednesday, January 30. Parents are welcome to attend.
PAG MEETING
The Parent Advisory Group will be meeting next Thursday, February 7, at 5:00 pm in the kitchen and library. Dinner and child care will be provided. Anyone who would like to participate in discussions about Riverside's programs, upcoming events, and generally supporting the community is welcome to attend.

Snacks: Thank you to the Spences for planning to bring some snacks for our skiers this week. We'd appreciate the donation of snacks for our small group from any families who are willing, please email Mr. G .
MLK ASSEMBLY
We had planned to celebrate Martin Luther King last week, and want to reschedule that plan as our speaker, Reverend Dr. Robert A Potter is highly recommended for his passion and stories of collaborating with Dr. King during the civil rights movement. We also planned to have a K-2nd grade choral performance, a quick lesson on the words "civil rights," and listening to a portion of the "I Have a Dream" speech. Stay tuned for when it will be scheduled; parents are encouraged to join us!

Both workshops are held in the Catamount Arts Cabaret Room, 115 Eastern Avenue in St. Johnsbury and require advanced registration. For more info:  www.catamountarts.org/education/classes-and-workshops .
GIVE TO RIVERSIDE'S MISSION
No matter the size of your gift, it's the act of donating that matters most. Please consider making a gift today if you haven't already. We strive to have 100% of our parents, faculty, and trustees participate in giving to Riverside, as that makes a powerful statement about the strength of our community. We thank you.
