Reminders

Good afternoon Riverside Families,

We had a great week of learning at Riverside as students and teachers are starting to get into the curriculum more. Our book fair wrapped up and students enjoyed that as usual too! We will have our first field trips of the year coming up in 3rd grade. Please keep in mind that in order to volunteer in a classroom/chaperone a field trip, a district volunteer application must be filled out every year. That application is linked below and will be at the bottom of every weekly Riverside Ripples. We encourage you to do that sooner than later as sometimes there might be delays in the process.

You may have noticed a change in parking and/or the police presence around the parking lot at Riverside earlier this week. Our police department is helping us study traffic to make it flow better and ultimately safer for students. One of the recommendations is to have no parking on both sides of Margaret Road in between our driveways. Thank you for your cooperation in this as you may have noticed the no parking signs. We are continuing to evaluate other things and always are trying to make drop off and pick up as safe and efficient as possible. Thank you for your cooperation.

Respectfully,

Scott Walter

A Piece of the PIE

Trunk or Treat is back!

Thursday, October 15 · 6-7:30 · Ben Franklin Playground

Bring the kids in costume for free trick-or-treating from car to car. It's one of our favorite nights of the year.

Want to help? We'd love you to:

  • Decorate a trunk — We're hoping for at least 20 trunks to make it a fun night for everyone! Sign up for a trunk here https://forms.gle/EYaKRJpDypEjcd2p8
  • Send candy or monetary donation — drop off wrapped candy at the school office, or chip in and we'll do the shopping. Donate to the PIE Venmo: @BFRSPIE

Want to help?

There are many opportunities to help out at school. Whether helping in the classroom, at PTO events or chaperoning a field trip, we'd love your help.

To ensure that all adults who come in contact with your children are safe to do so, we run background checks on all volunteers. You can apply today to be a volunteer at the link below. Please note that it does take 48-96 hours for the process, so if you want to volunteer, apply early.
