Reminders

Good afternoon Riverside Families,

We had a great week of learning and it was so great to so many of the Random Acts of Kindness Week hearts returned with the messages about your children. They are displayed proudly in the hallway and kids have enjoyed looking at them!

Just a reminder that students should bring their winter gear to school. It seemed to be a "surprise" to some this week that we were going outside when it was snowing :) We reminded some of our older students that you are never too cool for boots! Without boots, students are limited to the dry asphalt areas of the playground only.

Our annual Variety Show is back! If students wish to participate the permission slip on the flyer below is due back by this Wednesday for all acts.

Lastly, our parent feedback survey is live - please see the box below. We do take your feedback very seriously and review it as a staff. We are always looking to improve the experience for your child and your family. Please take a few minutes to fill out the survey.

If you need anything at all, please call, stop in or e-mail.

Respectfully,

Scott Walter

Parent/Guardian Feedback Survey

As part of our commitment to providing continuous service excellence to our families and our community, we are conducting a survey in partnership with Studer Education. Your feedback will help us determine what is working well in your child’s school and any areas that may need improvement.

The survey takes about 10-15 minutes to complete. We encourage you to complete it in one sitting, as your responses will be saved once you click submit. The survey will ask you to select your child’s school, and you can complete a separate survey for each of the schools your children attend.

The Parent/Caregiver Experience Survey can be accessed here:

The survey is scheduled for Thursday, February 6 through Tuesday, February 25.

To maintain confidentiality of the Parent/Caregiver Experience Survey, our partners at Studer Education will be administering the survey, managing the data collection, and aggregating the data to provide results reports to leaders. Thank you for your commitment to our success!

5th Grade Girls on the Run

Our 5th grade Girls on the Run team is looking for coaches. If you have a passion for volunteerism, healthy habits, goal setting and female empowerment, then you might be a perfect fit for a GOTR coach! As a coach for Girls on the Run, you’ll receive tools and training to help lead a team of girls toward their goals and help them recognize their limitless potential.

New coaches need to attend one training session before the season starts and complete an online training. The season starts the week of March 31st and ends with the 5K on May 31st. Practices are held after school on Mondays and Thursdays from 3:45 - 5:15pm, here at Riverside.

If you are interested in coaching, please reach out to Mrs. Araya, araykat@sdmfschools.org

A Piece of the PIE

🩷 Is that the Lion King playing in the background?! Because we can feel the love tonight, and it's all thanks to you wonderful grown-ups who purchased Candy Grams and/or helped assemble them. We raised $3,322! 😍😍😍This money will go toward making our schools an even lovelier place to learn.

🥰 There's another chance coming up to spread the love. Our next restaurant fundraiser night will be from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 25 at Smart Cow. You do not need to bring in the flyer, and 15% of proceeds will go toward supporting our schools.

❄️ We are sorry we didn't get to see you at our monthly meeting due to, you know, Wisconsin weather. 🥶 We haven't rescheduled the meeting yet, but if we do, you'll be sure to hear about it in our Facebook group. And if we don't, our next meeting will be March 13 at Riverside.

👍 A reminder to follow us on Facebook to stay up to date on the latest PIE happenings.

Want to help?

There are many opportunities to help out at school. Whether helping in the classroom, at PTO events or chaperoning a field trip, we'd love your help.

To ensure that all adults who come in contact with your children are safe to do so, we run background checks on all volunteers. You can apply today to be a volunteer at the link below. Please note that it does take 48-96 hours for the process, so if you want to volunteer, apply early.
