Reminders

Good afternoon Riverside Families,

It is hard to believe we are at the mid-point of the year! There has certainly been a lot of learning thus far in this great year and students are excited to show it off at our Open House coming up this week on Thursday night from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. You can pop in anytime during that window and we hope to see you there. Don't forget to pop into all of our specials classrooms (Art, Music, Phy Ed, etc.) and to visit all the teachers your child sees throughout the day. It is always a fun evening!

Please see below to keep an eye out for learning binders coming home this week as we use them to help communicate student progress with you. They will be coming home after Open House on Thursday night.

Learning Journals

Coming Home

All Riverside classrooms will be sending home their learning journals after Open House this week. Students all have learning journals that they add to throughout the year to keep track of their progress on grade level learning targets and personal goals. Our "specials" areas (Library, Music, Art, etc.) also contributed to the learning journals at this midpoint of the year. We will be sending them home a few times this year school-wide in order to keep communicating with families about student progress and keep the conversations going.

Please see the attached documents for more information and also some discussion prompts that you can use with your child as you look it over with him/her and send back next week. Thank you!

A Piece of the PIE

😍 Valentine's Day is around the corner, and who doesn't love receiving candy? If you haven't secured a Valentine Candy Gram yet for your student(s) there is still time! We'll be accepting orders through the weekend. See attached flyer for additional details.

🍭 Will you be our Valentine ... Candy Gram assembler? We're still looking for volunteers to help us match the candy gram notes with suckers. We're meeting at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 11 at Three Cellars. Show PIE some love and sign up to volunteer here.

🙋 Our next meeting is slated for 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 12 in the Ben Franklin library. We hope to see you there!

Want to help?

There are many opportunities to help out at school. Whether helping in the classroom, at PTO events or chaperoning a field trip, we'd love your help.

To ensure that all adults who come in contact with your children are safe to do so, we run background checks on all volunteers. You can apply today to be a volunteer at the link below. Please note that it does take 48-96 hours for the process, so if you want to volunteer, apply early.
