A new city manager is on the job in Riverton following a search and extensive application process. Konrad Hildebrandt, who began his administrative duties on April 30, was selected out of a pool of more than 100 applicants.

“We’re thrilled to have Konrad on board as the new city manager,” said Mayor Trent Staggs. “His experience in city management will serve us well as we seek to continually improve the quality of life for Riverton residents. His approach and experience align well with our city’s goals and I look forward to seeing him help our city strive for operational excellence.”
On May 3, 2018, at approximately 10 p.m., Unified Police Department (UPD) Riverton Precinct officers received information of a large stash of marijuana in the basement apartment of 12480 S 2240 W. Detectives, patrol officers, and K9 from the DEA Metro Narcotics Task Force surrounded the home and began announcements for any occupants to exit. The sole occupant of the apartment, Elijah Webb, complied with officers and was detained.
Sudden cardiac arrest is among the leading causes of death in the United States. In fact, more than 350,000 people will suffer a cardiac arrest this year. Currently, the only way to restore a regular heart rhythm during cardiac arrest is to use an AED. Automated external defibrillators can help save lives during sudden cardiac arrest.
Don’t Water on Automatic:
Respond to Your Lawn’s Need, Not Your Habit!
Your lawn will adapt easily to an every-three-day watering pattern; in fact, you can even water less frequently. If nature helps out, so much the better! Check to see if rainfall is meeting your lawn’s needs. Here’s a tip: let nature sprinkle your lawn as late into the spring as possible before you begin to irrigate. This practice will help your lawn develop healthy roots.

Don’t Water Everything the Same
Water the lawn separately from plant beds and trees, as those areas need less water than the lawn.
A ribbon cutting ceremony and celebration will be held for the new Western Springs Park playground and splash pad on Thursday, May 24, at 6:30 p.m. Adults and children alike are invited to come celebrate the opening of the brand new equipment. Riverton City will be providing hot dogs and snow cones for the first half hour for those in attendance. The park is located at 4570 W 12790 S in Riverton.

“We’re thrilled to be opening the new playground and splash pad at Western Springs Park,” said Sheril Garn, Riverton’s parks and public services director. “It’s a great addition to the park and the local community. We hope the community will come celebrate with us on May 24.”
