Riverton City has launched the “Best of Riverton Photo Contest” with the goal of having residents capture, in photo, the very best the city has to offer. The contest, which runs through August 3, is divided into three categories: live, work/service and play. Photos from the contest will be used to tell Riverton’s story in the city’s future marketing and communications efforts.

The contest winner will receive a $300 cash award, and category winners will each receive a $100 award.

**You don't have to be a professional photographer to participate!
Questions about Riverton City’s relationship with the Unified Police Department of Greater Salt Lake (UPD) have arisen since the Herriman City Council voted unanimously on May 16 to submit notice of their city’s intent to end their partnership with the department.

As there has been much speculation about how that decision impacts Riverton, the explanation at the link below provides answers from Riverton City’s perspective on various topics.
In an effort to better leverage the talent of the community, Riverton City is seeking applicants for several new volunteer committees. The committees have been created to assist city leaders in implementing the city’s strategic priorities and will be formed in the following areas: 1) community events, 2) economic development, 3) emergency preparedness and 4) parks, recreation and trails. Committee and application details can be found at the link below.
