Riverton City offices are closed today in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

RIVERTON COMMUNITY TO COME TOGETHER FOR SPECIAL ANXIETY AND MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS EVENT
The Riverton community will come together to raise awareness of anxiety and mental health at a special event on Monday, Jan. 28 at 6 p.m. at the Riverton High School Auditorium, 12476 Silverwolf Way. The gathering, Live in Real Life: Part 2 , will be a follow-up to the standing-room only event for parents about children’s social media use and its impact on mental health held in September last year. The event’s focus will be anxiety awareness and is open to anyone age 10 years and older.

HOPE WALK FOR SUICIDE AWARENESS TO TAKE PLACE FEB. 2
All are encouraged to participate in this year's HOPE Walk for suicide prevention. The walk will take place on Saturday, Feb. 2 at 9 a.m. Walkers begin in front of Riverton High School and conclude at Spirit Corner at 12600 S and Redwood Road. Donuts and hot chocolate will be provided at the walk's conclusion. Come and walk to raise awareness and support prevention of suicide!

LIVE WITH THE MAYOR TO FEATURE STATE SENATOR DAN MCCAY
Mayor Staggs will host State Senator Dan McCay for a LIVE with the Mayor Facebook Live broadcast on Friday, Jan. 25 at 4 p.m. The two will discuss the upcoming legislative session, key issues being considered, and items that may impact Riverton residents.

Officer Bryan Pickle (center) has named Officer of the Month in Unified Police Department's Riverton precinct. Officer Pickle was instrumental in helping solve an armed robbery case in Riverton. His efforts went above and beyond what is required.

Christmas Tree Drop Off
Riverton City is offering free Christmas tree drop off locations through January 31. Drop off locations include Riverton City Rodeo Arena, Centennial Park, and Monarch Meadows Park. Trees must have lights and decorations removed.

Pledge of Allegiance at City Meetings
Riverton City is looking for individuals to lead the Pledge of Allegiance at city council meetings during 2019. Those who lead the pledge will have an opportunity to introduce themselves, as well as any organization they represent, to the council.
