Academic News

This past week, the students from the Nauset Light Pod went outside for a team bonding activity and to enjoy the beautiful weather and fresh air. Students enjoyed a game of "Space Ball," where they had to throw and catch a variety of different “balls” of different sizes, shapes and weights using their imaginations.

They had a blast as they used their imaginations to catch heavy balls, bouncy balls, big balls and smaller ones. We had to practice making eye contact, using loud clear voices, and remembering who had and had not had a chance to "catch!"

At the end of the day, we were all laughing and joking as we shared one amazing part of our week! It was such a great way to end the day on Wednesday.
Naukabout Brewery has recently become one of Riverview School's Community Partners! They are a new host site for our internship program, and students in our program are learning food service skills on site at the brewery.
Congratulations Students of the Week!

This week's GROW Student of the Week is Ryan C. This week’s Student of the Week is truly one of the happiest people any of us has ever met. As a member of our Project SEARCH program, he is kind and caring to all, willing to jump in anytime he sees a person in need. He will brighten everyone’s mood just with his laugh, and he is always ready with a compliment. He positively loves to learn new tasks and will try anything asked of him. He will reply “you got it” when given feedback and then he “gets it done!” As part of the program with the mentors of the Colorado State University program, Ryan chose to work on the goal of meal planning. He is so excited about this goal that he bought an apron with the words, “Chef Ryan!” Congratulations, Ryan, you put your heart and soul into everything you do and you sincerely deserve this Student of the Week award!

This week's MS/HS Student of the Week is Dylan K. This week we are thrilled to celebrate a student who has really worked hard in his academic classes. His curiosity makes him a terrific science student as Mrs. Murphy reports, he always has some very thoughtful questions both before and after experiments. She also shared that this sophomore student has helped her out this year as he volunteers to be the tour guide for all visiting virtual students. Mrs. Mallaghan said that with his more mature behavior in reading enrichment classes, she is excited to see how much he can grow as a reader. Congratulations to Dylan K., our Student of the Week!
