See you Back on Campus in 2-Weeks!

We are very excited that our students are returning to campus February 13-15!

Pre-Arrival Quarantine
As part of the social contract all families have with our Riverview School community, we want to remind you of the importance of adhering to the two-week, pre-arrival quarantine in preparation for this return. Your commitment to this process plays a crucial role in helping reduce the risk of COVID-19 on campus. Pre-arrival quarantine begins this Saturday, January 30Directions on quarantine can be found here: COVID-19 isolation and quarantine information | Mass.gov

We have received questions from some of you as to whether or not your student still needs to complete the pre-arrival quarantine if they have received the vaccination. Please be aware that the two-week pre-arrival quarantine is required of all students, regardless of vaccination status. Thank you and see you in two weeks!

Wellness Challenge Update:

There has been great enthusiasm for the 30 Day Self-Care Challenge and it's wonderful to see all the students' accomplishments they are posting on Riverview Unites! We are 12 days into the 30-day challenge but it's not too late to join.

You can find the challenge sheet on the Wellness Challenge Google Classroom HERE. Once you have completed the challenge you can email your completed sheet to Mr. Black or post a comment that you have completed it in the Wellness Challenge Google Classroom.

GROW Academics:

Students are hard at work in their virtual classes. In Mr. Adam's Communication and Literacy class, students are beginning a family project where they get to look at the history of their families, put together a presentation, and present it to a couple of classes. It is such a great way for students to get to know their past and for them to practice speaking in front of a larger group. In Ms.Tierno's finance class, students are planning a virtual field trip to an aquarium in California! They are going to utilize Google Maps to find other local activities to do.
Congratulations Sydney & Kat - Our Students of the Week!

Sydney R., GROW Student of the Week -- Even though Sydney started her Riverview career not too long ago, you would think that she has been here for years. Sydney not only jumped right into virtual learning, but didn’t hold back in being an active participant in her classes. Sydney has such a kind and sweet personality that others naturally gravitate towards. She gets up extra early to attend her classes since she is in a different time zone. We are so impressed with how flawlessly she has transitioned into her new role as a Riverview student!

Kat S., HS Student of the Week -- This week, we celebrate a senior on the Rock Harbor Pod who joined our program last fall. From day one, she has been an active participant in all of her classes and residential activities and this year she has proven to be a leader during our remote learning. Ms. Anderson and Ms. Hufnagel are thrilled with her positive, can do attitude during dorm meetings, while Ms. McHugh says that she is a student she can always count on to give thoughtful responses to classroom questions. She is kind, caring and wants to help her classmates when she is able; making sure that no one is left out. Riverview School is very lucky that Kat S. found her way to us last year.
