Summer Reading
Congratulations on making it to summer! We are excited for the 2019-2020 school year! As part of our endeavor to make sure all students are ready for a successful school year, all new and returning students in kindergarten - 5th grade will be encouraged to read over the summer by using a Summer Reading Bingo sheet. As you know, reading during the summer is a great way to increase a student’s love for reading and a great way to support each student as a growing reader.

The Summer Reading Bingo sheet will provide students with creative places and different choices for reading during the summer. Students will use the Summer Reading Bingo sheet to track their reading progress during the summer months. For each completed task or activity, students will color or check each box on the Summer Reading Bingo sheet and write the title of the book in the box.

All Summer Reading Bingo Sheets will be due the first day of school, August 21 st , 2019. All students who complete the Summer Reading Bingo sheet will receive a Scholastic gift certificate.

Rising 7th Grade Students
Per DHEC requirements, all students entering the 7th grade for 2019 must receive one does of the TDap vaccine. Please check with your child's doctor to verify that your rising 7th grade student is up to date on his/her shots. An updated shot record needs to be provided to the school. Your local DHEC department also provides the vaccines. Please call 1855-472-3422 to make an appointment. If you have any questions, please contact Nurse Donna. A copy of DHEC's Immunization memo can be found here.
Fall Sports
Lions, we're happy to announce that all rising 7th - 10th graders are eligible to join the boys and girls varsity cross country team and the boys and girls varsity swim team. That's right, we've added swimming. We have submitted our application to join the South Carolina High School League and our hearing is scheduled for August 7th. Once approved, we'll be considered at-large for the 2019 - 2020 school year, then in the Fall of 2020, we'll be assigned to a 2A region.

We'll have a fall sports info session on Monday, July 22 at 9:00 am for both cross country and swimming.

Before any child participates in any summer or team workout, the school must have a copy of a pre-participation physical form and a physical examination form on file. The physical must be as of April 1, 2019.

The season begins on Friday, August 2nd, so please don't wait to have these forms completed.

Cross Country Runners - Contact Coach Wilson for a list of dates for optional summer runs. Please check out our XC website for more details and dates for scheduled meets.

Swimmers - Your practices will begin on August 2nd. Please check out our swimming website for more information. We'll post the fall meet schedule after August 2nd. Coach Girard can be reached at this email after July 15th.
