I hope each of you had a wonderful week. For most of you, this is the final full week of summer before school starts. That's right, August 10th is right around the corner (for our K - 9 students) and August 15th (for our 10th -12th grade students).

For us, we have a busy week ahead of us as our teachers return to campus on Wednesday to not only prepare our building for our students, but to prepare ourselves for the upcoming school year.

Over the next ten days, we'll be breaking from our normal "Sunday only" newsletters and emails as we want to make sure we pass along all the information that you and your students need for a successful start of the school year.

The most popular question we're being asked is "When will I find out who my child's teacher is?" Welcome letters with this information and more will be mailed for our 1st - 12th grade students tomorrow (and by Wednesday for our kindergartner families).

Pride, it's going to be a great year and with your support and positive mindset, it's going to be our best year ever.

Meet the Teacher and Back to School Bash

Get ready to welcome the new school year at Riverwalk’s Back to School Bash from 5:00-7:00 PM, on August 8th!

We will have "Meet the Teacher," followed by food trucks and games outside!

Meet the Teacher Schedule:

Elementary: 4:00 pm- 5:30 pm
Middle School: 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm
High School 9 - 12 (schedule pick up): 5:00 pm in MPR

Lions Pride: Before and After School Program

We are thrilled to offer Lion’s Pride for the 22-23 school year. Our before school care (6:30 am -7:30 am ) will be open to grades K-9 & our after school care(dismissal - 6pm) will be open to K-8. Registration will open Aug 1 on a first come first serve basis and will have limited spots available. Visit riverwalkacademy.com for more information.

Kindergarten News

Kindergarten screening will continue this week, Monday, August 1, 2022 and Tuesday, August 2, 2022.

Wednesday, August 10, 2022 and Thursday, August 11, 2022 will be staggered dates. You will receive your kindergartner staggered date by Wednesday, August 3, 2022 once the class rosters are finalized. All kindergarten students will attend on Friday, August 12, 2022.

A Note from Dr. Dempsey

Happy Sunday!! I hope you are all soaking up the last few days of summer. We are looking forward to seeing everyone back at school on August 8 for Meet the Teacher.

Please see the flyer below for all the details. Schedules will be mailed this week. Please note that PowerSchool is currently disabled for students and parents as we work to finalize schedules. You will receive all the additional information you need at Meet the Teacher- including class syllabus and a list of additional supplies your student will need.

We are continuing to work to prepare the MOD for our students. The bathrooms are being painted ( I snuck in Friday for a peek- it looks awesome) and also making other improvements to make it more welcoming for our PRIDE. There are several new faces in the PRIDE this year, please keep an eye on our Social Media for their introductions. We are truly so excited to welcome our students back and to have an awesome school year.
