Holiday Boat Parade - December 11, 2015
Bridge Closure Advisory and Modified Trolley Service  
 
The Annual Holiday Boat Parade will take place on Friday, December 11, 2015.  Beginning at 7pm, decorated vessels will proceed from the Boynton Beach Inlet to the C15 canal, just south of Delray Beach.
 
Between approximately 7:30pm and 9pm, the George Bush Boulevard, Atlantic Avenue and Linton Boulevard bridges will be in the open position at various times while the parade travels south.  Vehicular and pedestrian traffic will be restricted over the bridges during this time.   
 
Modified Trolley Service - While bridge closures are in effect (Friday, December 11 from approximately 7:30pm to 9pm), the Downtown Roundabout will provide free, transit service along Atlantic Avenue between the Tri-Rail Station on South Congress Avenue to NE/SE 7th Avenue   Trolleys will travel south on SE 7th Avenue to SE 1st Street, proceed west on SE 1st Street to SE 6th Avenue, head north on SE 6th Avenue to Atlantic Avenue and continue west on Atlantic Avenue to the Tri-Rail Station.  NO SERVICE will be provided east of the Intracoastal Waterway during this time.  Normal service will resume once bridge closures are no longer in effect.

Atlantic Ave from Ocean Blvd/SR A1A to NW/SW 8th Ave and 
the Intersection of Atlantic Ave/US1 Federal Highway to Close During Parade

The City of Delray Beach is proud to sponsor the Delray Beach Holiday Parade on Saturday, December 12, 2015.  Over 70 entries are expected to participate, celebrating this year's theme "A Multicultural Holiday".  Through a special connection to the North Pole, Santa will be riding on a fire truck with the City of Delray Beach's Fire-Rescue Department.
 
At 6pm, the parade will proceed down Atlantic Avenue from the Intracoastal Waterway Bridge to NW/SW 5th Avenue.  During the parade, the following road/bridge closures, paid parking facilities and modified trolley service will be in effect:
 
Road Closures - On Saturday, December 12, from 4pm to approximately 9pm, Atlantic Avenue will be closed to vehicular traffic from Ocean Blvd/A1A to NW/SW 8th Avenue.  Roads will reopen to vehicular traffic as the parade completes that section of the route; however, Atlantic Avenue between NE/SE 5th Avenue and Swinton Avenue will remain closed until 8pm to allow for pedestrian traffic.   Other sections of Atlantic Avenue will reopen beginning right after the parade. 
 
Also note that northbound and southbound US1 Federal Highway (NE/SE 5th & 6th Avenues) at the intersection of Atlantic Avenue will be closed to vehicular traffic for the duration of the parade.  
 
Detour Routes - Motorists are advised to use the following alternate routes during road closures:  For eastbound/westbound travel, use George Bush Blvd or Linton Blvd.  For northbound/southbound travel, use Ocean Blvd/SR A1A or Congress Avenue.
 
Motorists traveling in the downtown core area are advised that the following detour routes will be in effect during road closures:  Eastbound traffic will be rerouted to either NW/NE 2nd Street or SW/SE 2nd Street.  Westbound traffic will be rerouted to NW/NE 2nd Street.  See Figure 1 below.

Bridge Closure
- The Atlantic Avenue Bridge will be closed to boat traffic during the parade.
 
Downtown Roundabout Modified Trolley Service - On Saturday, December 12, while road closures are in effect (4pm to approximately 9pm), the Downtown Roundabout will  provide free transit service along Atlantic Avenue between the Tri-Rail Station on South Congress Avenue and NW/SW 8th Avenue.  Normal service will resume subsequent to roadways opening.  Please expect delays due to additional traffic generated by this event.
   
Parking Facilities
A $5 fee per vehicle, paid upon entry, will be in effect at the following locations beginning at 3pm on Saturday, December 12:
  • Robert Federspiel Parking Garage - 22 SE 1st Avenue
  • Old School Square Parking Garage - 95 NE 1st Avenue 
  • The north parking lot of City Hall - 100 NW 1st Avenue 
  • South County Courthouse Parking Garage - 65 SW 2nd Avenue 
Parking attendants accept cash only, upon entry, and will monitor the parking facilities until the posted closing times.

About the Downtown Roundabout
The Downtown Roundabout provides free transit service along Atlantic Avenue from the Tri-Rail Station on South Congress Avenue to Ocean Blvd/SR A1A.  Two trolleys operate daily, offering "park and ride" public transportation throughout downtown Delray Beach.  Trolleys will only stop at designated trolley stops along the route.  Please note that passengers will be asked to exit the trolley at the final destination of the one-way trip.  To view schedules and routes, including a map of trolley stops, visit  www.mydelraybeach.com and select "Downtown Roundabout Schedule" on the home page.  The Downtown Roundabout is sponsored by the Delray Beach Community Redevelopment Agency with additional funding provided by the South Florida Regional Transportation Authority.
