The final stages of Bay Street Stabilization project will occur from March 17 to March 30, with single-lane traffic in place.
This project is a priority initiative aimed at stabilizing the road, protecting surrounding properties, and protecting the sanitary sewer line that serves over 300 homes.
To date, the project team has completed all major works on the hill, including a new storm system, road base reconstruction and stabilization, paving, and barrier and shoulder work.
Due to the seasonal closure of paving plants and limited weather conditions, the remaining reconstruction of Bay Street between Elm Avenue and Crescent Road East had to be delayed until spring when conditions permitted. The slope will also be reseeded to further stabilize the area.
