Road Reconstruction - Phase 2

To the Superstition Mountain Community,

We are writing to notify all owners that we are starting the next phase in our planned multi-year road maintenance project. We are now ready to start Phase Two of reconstruction on a significant portion of the community’s roadways.

We are working with MR Tanner, and our project consultant, Frank Civil Consulting, will supervise the project. These are the same consultants and paving contractors we used in 2024.

This project phase will cover Superstition Mountain Drive (from the entrance of Golden Eagle Village to just past the entrance to First Water Village) and major portions of the roads in Golden Eagle and First Water Village, and Lost Gold Estates as highlighted on the map below.

To keep you informed throughout this process, we have added a Projects tab to the top level of the Association's website. This tab will have additional information added throughout the project, similar to the page used for 2023's reconstruction.

We are beginning with these areas based upon the needs assessment the Committee developed, which gives priority to:

  1. The actual condition of the existing road,
  2. The number of residents that the road impacts, and
  3. Our ability to work on an area with as little community disruption as possible.

This work will begin the week of July 8, 2024 with utility adjustments on the affected roads. This work is needed to remove and cover utilities, manholes, etc. before the road is milled. You will see the following on the affected roads until the final adjustments are made in mid-August.

Paving - the most disruptive portion of this phase - is scheduled for the last week of July and the first week of August, specifically July 25 & 26 and July 31 - August 2. This is the only portion of the project where residential access may be restricted.

We will follow up with email blasts to the whole community and village-specific communications as we approach the work that most impacts our residents. We plan to do everything possible to minimize resident disruption to the extent possible.

We expect the bulk of construction to be complete by the first week of August, with striping and final utility adjustments completed the week of August 12.

In the meantime, please be cautious while driving. The various vendors are on property throughout the month of July and into August, preparing for and executing the project.

Best Regards,

Alex Wright
