Tomorrow Governor Carney will offer his 2021 State of the State Address, followed soon afterwards by his budget message. Together, these will outline his priorities for the coming year.

Earlier today, the Delaware State Chamber and Delaware Business Roundtable shared in a joint letter to Governor Carney policy priorities we believe will help Delaware employers and, by logical extension, their employees, realize a successful future.

In economic news this week, look for consumer confidence index data for January to be released tomorrow. On Wednesday, Fed Chairman Jerome Powell hosts an important press conference where he’s expected to talk about inflation, interest rates and unemployment. Thursday brings us Gross Domestic Product, or GDP, stats from the 4th quarter of 2020, and December home sales and leading economic indicator numbers for December. We end the week on Friday with personal income, consumer spending and core inflation figures from December.
