Dates to Remember
November 12, 2019
As much as we hoped for a mild fall, the chilly temperatures are a good reminder that the December 7 Entrance Exam is less than one month away. There are only a couple more weeks for shadowing.

For families still wishing to visit our campus, we will offer guided tours to our 8th Grade families at our "Last Look" event on Wednesday, December 4 - details below.

Please keep in mind that Nazareth does not have classes the week of Thanksgiving. Please  contact Mr. Bonk as soon as possible to schedule your visit.

We look forward to seeing you soon.

Roadrunners Make School History
Nazareth is Spirit

When we say that no one year is like any other at Nazareth, we are not kidding and this weekend was a prime example. Our Roadrunners made school history in two different sports.

On Friday evening, Girls Volleyball defeated a strong St. Francis of Wheaton team to win Nazareth's first IHSA Class 3A Super Sectional Title. They were cheered on by an enormous fan section and have now qualified for the IHSA State Competition. The Roadrunners will play Friday and Saturday, November 15 & 16, at Redbird Arena on the campus of Illinois State University. No doubt the Freddie Fanatics will travel again to show their loud support for Naz Spirit.

Can't make the trip? Stream via the NFHS link here.

On Saturday morning, our State Qualifying Girls Cross Country team was in Peoria for the IHSA State Meet at Dettweiler Park. In high spirits and despite the cold, they ran well. While the team didn't medal, the Runners did not come home empty-handed. Freshman Colette Kinsella '23 finished 13th in State to deliver Nazareth's first-ever Girls Cross Country State Medal. Congrats to Colette and thanks to her teammates and families for representing Nazareth so well at State.

Nazareth Football also remains undefeated in the 2019 season thanks to a great win over Thornton this weekend. Naz will host Batavia High School on Saturday, November 16 at 1 p.m., for our final home game of the season. All Naz fans are welcome.

If you can't make the game, catch the Naz broadcast on NFHS  here.

Please be reminded that Roadrunner Athletic passes CAN NOT be used for IHSA post season contests.

Nazareth is Scholarship

Honors Geometry has been working hard at proving triangles congruent with the use of the many theorems they have learned. The new block scheduling allows for the class to take a break from traditional learning to gather groups and work together to decide if the triangles are congruent.

Students were asked to use dry erase markers to mark up the triangles, come up with the concluding theorem and then use their iPads to scan the unique QR code that held the answer to each problem - this gives students immediate feedback!

Veterans Day with Future Healthcare Professionals
Nazareth is Spirit

Our Future Healthcare Professionals Club honored Veterans Day yesterday by inviting Captain Paul Roach to speak to Nazareth students about Combat Surgery.

Captain Roach is one of many guest speakers scheduled to address the club this year on topics ranging from Speech Pathology to the medical school match system to the legal aspects of healthcare.

This new club was founded by students who have an interest in the healthcare field and is moderated by Mrs. Miller of our Science Department. It is an excellent example of both  #NazSpirit  and  #NazScholarship.
