Parent rooms are available on campus
Idaho State University offers designated areas on campus for parents who need to breastfeed, care for their infants, or express milk. These private, lockable rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and are accessed with a Bengal card. Contact Stephanie Richardson, richstep@isu.edu or (208) 282-3590, Shirley Taysom, taysshir@isu.edu or (208) 282-3964, to have your Bengal number activated.
Watch for new scholarship opportunities
While the majority of scholarships for the Fall 2022 semester have been awarded at this time, students should keep an eye on BOSS (Bengal Online Scholarship System) and their email (if they have already created an account in BOSS) for new scholarship opportunities. The majority of scholarships are made available between January and April each year, but new donors also provide scholarships throughout the year. Encourage your students to log into BOSS every few weeks to see if they have new scholarships recommended for them and to watch their ISU email for alerts. To log into BOSS, visit https://isu.academicworks.com/users/sign_in. Additional questions may be directed to our Scholarship Office at scholar@isu.edu
It’s never too early to start planning for Spring 2023 registration
Although your student is just 4 weeks into the fall semester, it is never too early to start planning for Spring 2023 classes. Each student is assigned a primary academic advisor for their program of interest. These advisors and a link to schedule an appointment can be found in the Advisor Directory. Now is a great time to get an appointment! Oftentimes, students will wait until just before their registration date in November to get advising help, which makes getting a desired appointment time a little more tricky. Encourage your student to book an academic advising appointment now. Advisors not only assist with course selection, but they are an amazing resource to help students navigate the university. For more information about academic advising, visit our main page at the Office of Academic Advising.
Students receive annual notification of student rights under FERPA
An annual notification was distributed to all Idaho State University students by email on Monday, September 12, in an effort to ensure that they are aware of their student rights under FERPA. The email read as follows:

Dear Student,

Your privacy is important to us, and also protected by federal law.

In compliance with the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), Idaho State University is responsible for protecting and maintaining the privacy of student records and carefully evaluating requests for release of information from those records. FERPA is a federal law that protects the privacy of your student education records. It is important that you know your rights under FERPA, which can be reviewed online.

Questions about FERPA may be directed to our Office of the Registrar at reginfo@isu.edu
