Roaring through the Month

|
Imminent deadline: Friday, March 17, is the last day to withdraw from Spring ‘23 semester classes. Has your student talked to an advisor?
|
Withdrawing from a class can impact financial aid or timely completion of a program, but it can also give students a chance to regroup if life circumstances have changed since they first registered for the class or if they simply tackled too much at the outset. The key is to talk with an advisor prior to dropping a course! Students may email questions to Central Advising at AskanAdvisor@isu.edu or call them directly at (208) 282-3277. Remember, we have Idaho State staff here, ready, and willing to help your students make informed choices about their academic career.

Registration for Fall 2023 classes is just around the corner!
|
The Dynamic Schedule is slated to be released on March 20. Students register based on their class level on the following days starting at 7:00 a.m.
April 3 - Seniors
April 5 - Juniors
April 7 - Sophomores
April 10 - Continuing Freshmen
Students’ Bengalweb registration landing page allows them to pre-load courses into a "shopping cart" area. Once their scheduled day to register arrives, students simply log in and submit those courses.
Now is a great time for students to meet with an academic advisor if they have questions about scheduling or course sequencing. Students who still need assistance the week of April 10 can meet with academic advisors from each college who will be set up in the Pond Student Union Quad Lounge to assist from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., April 10-12. We call this event ROAR into Registration. Students that can show their Fall course schedule at this event receive an ISU swag item.
AND…if your students are unsure about their major/program decision-making with fall class registration coming soon, encourage them to make an appointment with the Career Center to talk about options and ideas.

Are your students looking for ways to fund their education? Check out Summer Supplement and BOSS!
|
Getting a college education doesn’t come easy, but our Bengals don’t have to figure it out on their own. We have lots of resources—let us help! In fact, let’s start with paying for college. Two important resources for students at this time of the year are the Summer Supplement (Financial Aid) form and the Bengal Online Scholarship System.
The Summer Supplement (Financial Aid) form is now available for any students attending summer courses. The awarding of summer session financial aid differs in certain respects from that of the fall and spring semesters; Pell grants, other grants, and loan programs may be available on a very limited basis, but aid is still available, and students should consider applying immediately. For more information and to complete the form, visit Summer Aid | Idaho State University.
Important note: Students must submit a 2022-2023 FAFSA by June 30, 2023, to be considered for Summer 2023 federal financial aid.
BOSS, the Bengal Online Scholarship System, is open for all admitted students for the upcoming 2023-2024 academic year. Log into BOSS to complete “recommended” and other scholarship applications. Students should watch their email, and be super active in BOSS from now through April, when the majority of scholarships are open. Visit: www.isu.edu/scholarships and click on the BOSS link.
If students need further assistance or just want to talk with one of our financial aid experts about paying for their education, email Financial Aid at finidem@isu.edu (students are asked to include their Bengal ID in their email) or call (208) 282-2756.
