Roberts Repeats as ODAC Field Athlete of the Week
Virginia Wesleyan University's Geni Roberts of the men's track and field team was named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference field athlete of the week for the second consecutive week following a record breaking performance at the East Coast Invitational this past weekend in Virginia Beach, VA. 

Marlins show well at East Coast Invitational
The Virginia Wesleyan men's and women's track and field teams put in a solid performance at the East Coast Invitational held at the Virginia Beach Sports Center in Virginia Beach, VA. The event was highlighted by sophomore Geni Roberts breaking the VWU indoor record in the men's long jump with a 7.07M mark.

Marlins fall to Maroons of Roanoke in ODAC Contest
The Virginia Wesleyan University women's basketball team fell to the Maroons of Roanoke College 92-30 on Saturday afternoon at TowneBank Arena in Virginia Beach, VA.

Marlins pick up first win at St. Mary's College of Maryland 60-48
The Virginia Wesleyan University women's basketball team defeated the Seahawks of Saint Mary's College of Maryland 60-48 to pick up their first win of the season on February 2 in St. Mary's City, MD. The Marlins moved to 1-3 while the Seahawks fell to 1-3 on the season. Seniors Sabrina Jones and Danielle Lehner shined for the Marlins in leading the team to victory.
VWU Softball ranked 4th in preseason NFCA Coaches Poll
The National Fastpitch Coaches Association released the 2021 preseason coaches poll earlier this week and the Virginia Wesleyan University Marlins were selected fourth in the nation. East Texas Baptist claimed the top spot after going a perfect 15-0 in the shortened 2020 season. They were followed by the 2019 National Champions Texas Lutheran who sit second after going 19-1 before the COVID-19 pandemic shutdown spring sports.
